Permitable has raised a seed round of funding to grow our go-to-market efforts.
We started Permitable with a simple belief: predictable permits grow great cities.
Today, residential permit processes are a black box in most cities and towns. Builders submit plans and then lose visibility. Is it in review? With which department? Stuck on a comment? Waiting on a signature? Is it going to be the same as last time? Nobody knows, and every unknown day costs money. Idle crews, slipping schedules, and frustrated homeowners have been treated as the cost of doing business for too long.
We think builders deserve better. We think they deserve to know exactly where their permit stands, the same way you know exactly where your Domino’s pizza is.
That’s what we’ve been building, and today we’re excited to announce that Atlanta Ventures is backing us to build it bigger.
Every home starts with a permit, and right now that’s where too many projects stall. This investment lets us bring real predictability to builders who have been frustrated for decades. We’re not trying to make permitting a little less painful. We’re trying to make it something builders stop worrying about entirely.
— Chris Protos, CEO and Co-founder
What this funding fuels
The platform
We’ll keep investing in the AI that powers Permitable. That means smarter plan-set review, cleaner submissions, faster turnaround on comments, and real-time status tracking that makes the wait visible.
Our services
Software alone doesn’t get a permit approved. Our team of permit experts works alongside the technology, and we’re growing that team so every builder gets hands-on support when it matters.
Our data
Permit Radar tracks how long permits actually take, county by county and project type by project type. More data means sharper predictions, and sharper predictions mean builders can plan with confidence.
New markets
Atlanta is home and we’re up and running here. But permit delays aren’t an Atlanta problem — the problem is everywhere. Stay tuned.
Building a home takes a village: architects, engineers, subs, reviewers, historic commissions, and clients. Permitable connects that village. This funding helps us bring more of the construction ecosystem onto one shared picture of where every project stands.
— Zach Pousman, CMO and Co-founder
A huge thank you to A.T. Gimbel and the entire Atlanta Ventures team for believing in what we’re building. Most of all, thank you to the builders, architects, and engineers who trusted us with their projects early on. You shaped this product, and you’re the reason we’re here.
The best companies we see solve a problem that’s painful, frequent, and expensive, and permitting is all three. When builders can plan around a permit instead of waiting on one, everything downstream moves.
— A.T. Gimbel, Partner at Atlanta Ventures
Atlanta is growing, and growth needs homes. We’re proud to help this city build, and we’re just getting started.
We’re ready to build. We hope you are too.
If you build, design, engineer, or renovate, we’d love to work with you.
And if you want a front-row seat to how permitting really works, subscribe to Permit Radar for one hyper-local number every week.
